Tribute to Bert Newton
Sunday Oct 31, 2021
Sunday Oct 31, 2021
A very brief Tribute to Bert Newton.
I know they call Graham Kennedy the the King, but Bert was the loveable cheeky prince who did it longer and better than anyone else.
The world is a better place for Bert having been in it and he will be very much missed.
This is my very small tribute to a very special person who's humour and warmth will be missed but never forgotten.

The Volley Shoe

Thursday Sep 02, 2021
This is the story behind the iconic Australian Volley Shoe with the two key figures behind its re-brand and how it went out of Kmart and on to the world stage.
This is a story of marketing campaign genius, inside meetings with Amazon, DIY counterfeit raids, censored ad's and the “Beyonce" of China.
A great conversation with the two key businessmen behind the iconic Volley and it’s re-brand into a modern boutique fashion shoe, now loved the world over.
This is the story of Australia's shoe and the two people that took it back to the top of its game.
Note: Some (actually a lot of) conversational coarse language is used in this episode.
You'll want a pair of new Volleys after hearing this one!
Podcast guests are Volley GM John Szwede and former CEO Martin Matthews.

Ever wondered why someone would want to enter politics. Or perhaps what they actually do all day long. Bumping into was lucky enough to grab Rob Molhoek, a Queensland Government MP for an hour or so and ask those sorts of questions.
Perhaps like me, you have wondered how much say us the people actually have in big party agenda or policy making. Is it “do as I say, not as I do” or are we really a democratic society. All is within this first Auspol episode of the Podcast.
An open and honest insight into a day in the life of a Politician and a deep insight on Rob's career.
Rob Molhoek is a Queensland LNP Minister and the State Member for Southport, located on the Gold Coast.

Avalanche. The next great Australian Rock Band.
More like a wild ramble than an conversation but a heap of fun. We head back stage after a live show of new Aussie rock outfit Avalanche on the 2021 debut tour of their new EP Second Hand Band.
Avalanche are a Sydney based hard-rocking four-piece band that has got the attention from the likes of Joel O'Keeffe of Airbourne and Rolling Stone Australia magazine.
What makes this podcast and this band so important is that, Avalanche are one of many new Aussie rock bands pushing to keep Australian live music alive - with or with out the support of FM radio.
We talk AD/DC, Billy Thorpe, Marshall amps and Gibson Guitars. I talk about the current state of Radio, Triple M, Triple J, Rebel RM, Michael Gudinski and even Jim Carrey and Daniel LaBelle get a mention. But most of all its your direct insight into a great new rock band just waiting to take on the same international stages as Rose Tattoo and Airbourne.
This one is for anyone that still says, "they don't make good bands anymore". They are there, you just have to go looking for them now, and this Podcast has done all the hard work for you.
After the podcast be sure to check out their new EP, Second Hand Band and support good Australian music.
Note: Some conversational coarse language is used in this episode.
Podcast guest: All members of Avalanche.

The Vietnam War with US special forces member Denis Harahan

The Vietnam War with US special forces member Denis Harahan.
We decided on making this episode one. A deep first hand insight to the Vietnam War with former US special forces veteran Denis Harahan. Ture to the format, we bumped into Denis and his story was largely unknown until now.
The audio quality wasn’t perfect, the structure a little all over the place but the story was powerful.
As the Vietnam veterans start to reach an age where we may lose their stories. I’m extremely thankful and proud we got this one down on tape.
A first hand account of the war with US special forces officer of the Vietnam war. The Vietnam War was a long, costly and controversial conflict. A disproportionately high amount of young men were forced to in to a war that would forever change their lives. The war went on to become a key part of 1960’s and 1970’s culture.
This episode is a first hand insight in to the war with a retired US special forces officer.
Podcast guests: Denis Harahan.
